Blog Post #6- Composition

This post is all about photo composition! Shot composition are the visual elements within the shot. Below are the different types of compositions of the photo shot.

#1- Rule of Thirds

The rule of thirds is dividing the photo with 2 horizontal and 2 vertical lines. The important parts of the shot is then set up along those lines. Doing this can create more tension and interest rather than putting the image front and center.

#2-Framing

Framing is a composition that draws the eye towards a certain area of the photo. This is an exaggerated example, but it could be a subtle way.

#3- Depth of Field

Depth of field is the distance between the closest and farthest object. The example shown here is the marker and eraser. This makes the marker appear larger.

#4- Deep Focus

Deep focus means that everything is in focus within the photos. This makes the shot look more professional. In this photo, both the marker and the eraser are in view and in focus.

#4- Shallow focus

Shallow focus pulls an object more into view by emphasizing an object rather than another. In here, the marker is more in focus than the eraser, which is more in the background. This can also be used as focus pull.
