This post is all about different types of camera shots! Camera shots can be used in different ways to convey different meanings or dramatize different events. Below are six different types of camera shots and an example of each.
#1- Establishing Shot
The establishing shot is usually the first shot of the scene. This clarifies where the location and environment of the scene is. It can also give the time of day and the general situation.
#2- Close-up Shot
The close-up shot is a shot of an object or person's face or an object. It can show a characters emotion or emphasize a small but important detail.
#3- Long-Shot
This shot shows the main person or object from top to bottom without filling the frame. The scenery also plays an important role to this type of shot and shows the characters place in it. This can sometimes replace the establishing shot.
#4- Point-of-View Shot
This shot is meant to mimic what the character sees. this can immerse the audience more into the shot by making them experience their emotional state.
#5 Over-the-Shoulder Shot
This is a shot that takes a point of view that is over the shoulder of the character. It can show reactions or give a third person point of view to the shot It is mainly used for conversations.
#6- Two Shot
