Using Camera Angles

Welcome internet surfers and Cambridge graders to

AICE PLACE MEDIA BLOG SPACE!

Again, a work in progress.

Today I have taken pictures from multiple camera angles: the high angle, low angle, and the Dutch angle. These pictures have all been shot through my iPhone. A lot of effort has been made to get some of these shots as my cats are usually active and love to move around.

                                                                   The High-Angle

The high-angle shot is a shot taken from above. It is often used to show vulnerability. For example, my cat, Smokey, is tired from playing with her siblings and wants to take a nap under some shade. Using a low angle can better express how much she wants to hide and sleep.

                                                                    The Low-Angle

The low-angle shot is taken from below. This shot is used to convey power or superiority. For example, Zoe (in front) just won a fight with a leaf while Simba (behind) watched. This angle best accentuates the strength and size Zoe had over the leaf.

                                                                   The Dutch Angle

The Dutch angle is an angle taken within an angle. Ironically a great example of this angle is the movie,  "Inception". It is often used to show tension. I don't think Savannah liked a camera in her face, but it DID get the tension.

Thank you for reading and I hope that you all stay safe!
